Bond have a long tradition of supporting recruitment industry events and 2015 was no exception. Our calendar was packed with events boasting industry-leading speakers on a mission to share knowledge and inspire recruiters. In this blog, Shane Wheeler, Marketing Communications Executive, Bond International Software looks back at the year that was and shares some of his highlights.
11th February: Global Recruiter UK Summit
Hosted at 30 Euston Square and aptly titled ‘Evolutionary Recruitment’, the Global Recruiter magazine UK Summit kicked-off our year of industry events and effectively set the scene for 2015.
Global Recruiter highlighted how workforce practices were changing as the year opened and how the skills of recruiters also needed to change in order to continue achieving success. Global Recruiter argued that far from becoming obsolete or outdated, the recruiter’s role continued to be crucial to ensure employers and candidates adapted to, and benefited from, all the industry changes.
Delivering valuable presentations addressing diversity and gender, working patterns, regulation and compliance, the Global Recruiter UK Summit offered delegates the insight and strategies required to become a vital recruiter in 2015. We were more than pleased to be on hand to demonstrate how Adapt could help enable recruiters realise their vision for 2015 and beyond.
24th and 25th February 2015: Recruitment Agency Expo
February 24th and 25th saw London’s Olympia Exhibition and Conference Centre host the fourth annual Recruitment Agency Expo. This event goes from strength to strength and the buzz was palpable as hundreds of recruiters made the most of the twenty-eight seminars and fourteen training sessions on the programme.
We spent two non-stop days at Stand 18, catching up with clients and prospects and delivering numerous overview demonstrations of Adapt.

14th May 2015: NRF Conference
Held at Citywest Hotel Conference and Event Centre in Dublin, the NRF Conference was titled ‘Going for Growth’ to highlight industry growth in 2015. Officially opened by An Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton, TD, the NRF Conference delivered a strong line up of excellent speakers who shared valuable information on national and international trends, and revealed their thoughts on the future for recruitment in Ireland and internationally.
Looking forward to sponsoring the NRF Awards later in the year, we exhibited throughout the event and were delighted to meet with the organisers and delegates.
27th – 29th May 2015: Ciett World Employment Conference 2015
Bond International Software were proud Gold Sponsors of the Ciett World Employment Conference 2015, held at the Grand Hotel Plaza in Rome.
The conference programme, titled ‘A Triple Win: Mobility, Inclusion and Competitiveness: The three gains from the employment & recruitment industry’, was packed with guest speakers and masterclass sessions of the highest calibre.
Our consultants were on hand throughout this prestigious event to demonstrate the latest features of Adapt, meet with many delegates and learn more about the challenges facing their businesses in 2015.
28th May 2015: UK Recruiter Recruitment Technology Showcase Event
Held near London’s Russell Square, UK Recruiter’s event was a great mix of learning sessions, speed demos and networking. The event delivered small group workshops and informal networking time with UK Recruiter’s sponsors and independent recruitment technology experts.
Technologies on show included CRM, online testing, multi-posting, analytics, mobile, web design, parsing, IT services, video conferencing and social media tools.
The day opened with two minute ‘elevator pitches’ from each technology supplier and these greatly helped delegates select which systems to see in action during the ‘speed-pitching’ sessions.
The ‘speed-pitching’ sessions held by UK Recruiter’s events are always exciting and our consultants rarely had the chance to catch their breath between brief overview demonstrations of Adapt.
A free drinks reception and prize draw wrapped up the event and we were already looking forward to the next one in October.
23rd June 2015: TREC 2015
In only its second year, the Talent Recruitment & Employment Conference provided a unique conference programme designed and driven by market participants to deliver topical and genuine debates led by senior speakers.
Informative panel sessions addressed talent attraction, employer branding, strategic talent sourcing and candidate experience. The event also actively involved delegates in round table discussions looking at how best to nurture tomorrow’s leaders, give employees the responsibility to drive their own career, manage multi-generational workforces and more.
Rapidly becoming one of the biggest and best events in our industry, Bond proudly sponsored and exhibited throughout TREC 2015.
15th – 17th September 2015: HRM Expo/Zukunft Personal
The HRM Expo/Zukunft Personal, Europe’s largest exhibition for Human Resource Management, took place at the Koelnmesse exhibition centre in Cologne, Germany in September.
The exhibition theme for 2015 was ‘Work 4.0’, meaning human resource management in the digital age. Dedicated to answering the question of how human resource professionals can manage digital change and create good working conditions for all, the event offered an amazing programme via nine presentation stages, three training ‘Action Zones’, and ‘MeetingPoints’ by HR peers for HR peers.
We worked closely with the event organisers to create a unique stand in the hall dedicated to recruiting and consulting, to meet with delegates, learn about the challenges facing their businesses and show them Adapt in action.
30th September – 1st October: Recruitment Agency Expo Birmingham
Now in its third year, the Recruitment Agency Expo Birmingham has more than solidified its place as the premier event for recruitment agencies in the Midlands and north of England. Once again hosted by the NEC Birmingham, this year’s event delivered over twenty-eight seminars and fourteen training sessions.
Seminar topics ranged from ‘Fighting Fraud to Improve Recruitment’s Reputation’ to ‘From Good to Really Great: The 3 Surprising Habits of High Performing Consultants’ and many were fully booked in advance, as were the training sessions helping recruiters ‘Win Tenders the Easy Way!’ and ‘Win Business Using Social Media’.
Adapt consultants were on hand throughout, keen to gain a better understanding of the challenges faced by recruiters as they entered 2015’s fourth quarter and demonstrate how Adapt could help overcome them.
5th – 7th October: SIA Executive Forum Europe
The second Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum Europe, titled ‘Growth Strategies for 2016’ was billed as ‘The must-attend planning event for staffing companies’ and quickly lived up to this claim as Alain Dehaze, Adecco CEO, delivered his opening keynote speech.
The event schedule was packed with forward-thinking sessions covering subjects such as ‘KPIs and Conversion Ratio Efficiency to Drive Value’ and ‘Total Talent Management: Towards a Brave New World of Work’
Bristling with roundtable sessions and panel discussions throughout, the schedule was clearly designed to arm recruiters with the knowledge required to succeed and the inspiration to do so.

08 October 2015: UK Recruiter Recruitment Technology Showcase Event
Held at London’s 20 Bedford Way, the second UK Recruiter Technology Showcase of 2015 followed the same popular format as the first and proved to be a worthy successor. Only a few brief months later, this equally busy event provided numerous recruiters with ‘speed demo’ sessions from recruitment technology providers and an array of learning sessions.
Adapt sales consultant Matt Jelley delivered our two-minute ‘elevator pitch’ as the day opened and the video below captures it in full.
03 November: Global Recruiter Recruitment Live 2015
In its second year, Recruitment Live was held at Old Billingsgate, London and continued to stake Global Recruiters’ claim to deliver the UK’s leading recruitment exhibition and conference. Day One opened with keynote presentations from Kevin Green, CEO, REC and Ann Swain, CEO, APSCo, both looked at the future of recruitment and effectively set the scene for the event.
Recruiters attending Recruitment Live were treated to a plethora of industry thought-leaders sharing their knowledge and experience through a packed schedule of presentations and seminars.
Bond International Software were Platinum Sponsors of the event and available throughout to catch up with clients and prospects, always keen to hear their thoughts and help their businesses power forward into the New Year.
As we close out this year of exciting industry events, we’re already looking forward to the 2016 line-up starting with the Recruitment Agency Expo in February – and we would love to see you there!
