2016 was an especially exciting year for Bond. In April we released our brand new recruitment-specific CRM, AdaptUX, and we were delighted to showcase it throughout the year.  Industry events proved to be the ideal launching ground for AdaptUX, with many recruiters grabbing their first look at the software on one of our stands.  Shane Wheeler, Marketing Communications Executive, Bond International Software, looks back at this year’s events and shares some of his highlights…

3rd and 4th February: Recruitment Agency Expo

New 2016 AdaptUX Exhibition StandHosted once again by the London Olympia exhibition centre, Recruitment Agency Expo kicked-off our year of events and, if the volume of the attending crowd was any indication, it was certainly a ‘red letter’ event in many recruiters calendar’s – and not surprisingly considering the stellar line-up of twenty-eight seminars and fourteen training sessions to attend.  Not to mention the chance to meet over ninety suppliers to the industry.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone who joined us – it’s always exciting to learn about new and developing recruitment businesses – and we demonstrated the power of Bond’s recruitment software countless times via new screens.

“Roll-on Expo North in October” was the overriding feeling post-event – once we’d caught up on our sleep of course!

12th February: TEAM Conference 2016

As proud TEAM Service Providers, we often support TEAM events and the TEAM Conference 2016 was a perfect fit for us.

The TEAM Conference delivered sector networking groups and a number of valuable workshops covering areas such as sales techniques, marketing, social media and travel and subsistence changes.  Guests from the Immigration and Enforcement Board and SAFER jobs imparted essential information for the year ahead.

Our consultants were on hand throughout this very busy and well-organised event to meet with TEAM members and provide software demonstrations – and it’s always a pleasure to offer TEAM Members a 10% discount on our standard rates.

TEAM gave away great prizes during their popular annual ‘Treasure Hunt’ and networking drinks closed-out the day nicely.

The evening’s Gala Dinner was also a great success – guests chose from an extensive cocktail menu and enjoyed crowd-pleasing music from the popular A-Lister’s band, who quickly filled the dance floor.

We’re certainly looking forward to next year’s TEAM Conference.

9th March: The Global Recruiter UK Summit 2016

Bond have a long-standing relationship with Global Recruiter and we’re always pleased to support their valuable work and ‘must-attend’ events.

Global Recruiter’s UK Summit events always deliver an excellent line-up of speakers and 2016 was no exception.  From REC’s CEO Kevin Green to ciett’s Economic Affairs Adviser Menno Bart, the calibre of speakers, and the level of interest in the knowledge they shared, was very high.

2016’s theme was ‘Recruiting Excellence’ and Bond’s consultants were on hand throughout, always keen to help recruiters achieve excellence by providing an excellent recruitment-specific CRM!

26th April: NRF Annual Conference 2016

The National Recruitment Federation, in association with The Irish Times and Bond, held its Annual Conference at Citywest Hotel, Dublin, on Thursday 28th April 2016. The biggest conference for recruiters in Ireland, the event attracted more than three hundred and fifty delegates from Ireland and overseas.

Bond were proud to once again be a headline sponsor at the NRF Annual Conference. The NRF assembled a fantastic line-up of speakers to explore the conference theme of ‘Navigating the Future’ and Bond consultants thoroughly enjoyed meeting and catching-up with many clients and prospects.

Keynote speaker, Ireland Rugby Coach Joe Schmidt, discussed his experience and insight regarding managing players in such a high-pressure environment and how his strategies can be applied to the business world.  Following a fifteen minute presentation, Joe was interviewed by Conference Chair Kevin Green, CEO, REC.

16th June 2016: UK Recruiter Recruitment Technology & Social Media Conference

On 16th June, London’s 20 Bedford Way once again hosted UK Recruiter’s Recruitment Technology & Social Media Conference

The day opened with two-minute ‘Elevator Pitches’ from each technology supplier, you can see Matt Jelley deliver Bond’s in the video below.  This Elevator Pitch was especially exciting for us because it was the first following the launch of AdaptUX.

UK Recruiter’s technology events are unlike any other on a recruiter’s calendar due to their exciting ‘speed demo’ sessions. Like ‘speed dating’ but with software, speed demo’s enable recruiters looking for new technology to quickly see if they like (or maybe even love!) what a system can offer…then, within twenty minutes, UK Recruiter’s Louise Triance blows a whistle and it’s off to see the next supplier. Needless to say, these sessions are always great fun and have likely been the start of many a beautiful (and productive) relationship!

The event also delivered small-group learning sessions designed to arm recruiters with the latest knowledge, a free drinks reception and a prize draw.

22nd June: TREC 2016

TREC2016 Stand

Grange Tower Bridge, London played host to TREC2016 and this year the event focused on three important areas of talent acquisition: attract, recruit and retain.

We were proud event sponsors of TREC2016.

How do you diversify, develop tomorrow’s super recruiters and make succession planning work? These were the key debates at TREC 2016.  Once again, REC brought together the best of the best within recruitment, HR and talent.  Experts from a variety of different employers, industry service providers and agencies came together in the name of ‘Good Recruitment’ for the third year of this flagship event.

Keynote speaker Matthew Syed delivered a fascinating presentation and a number of our consultants picked-up a copy of his book, Black Box Thinking.

TREC also showcased thought provoking roundtable and panel discussions with well-known industry leaders.  Topics included creating an authentic employer brand, getting candidate experience right every time, Management focus on engaging and retaining, workforce planning, social sourcing and what the ‘gig economy’ means for HR and Recruitment.

30th June: NRF Cork Chamber Seminar 2016

NRF - Cork Event Examiner Press CuttingThe National Recruitment Federation (NRF) in partnership with the Cork Chamber regional summer conference took place on Thursday 30th June in the Clarion Hotel Cork City.

The 2016 seminar entitled ‘WHY CORK (exploring Multinational Companies invested in the Cork Region)’ focused on what is being done to promote Cork as an area of investment for FDI and looked at diversity and cultural traits in companies currently operating in the region.  It also looked at the recruitment trends and data both locally and globally.

Delegates had the opportunity to network with fellow Cork Chamber members, as well as members of the National Recruitment Federation, at this successful event.

Bond representatives were on hand throughout, demonstrating how the newly-released AdaptUX delivers the ultimate recruitment software User eXperience.

28th and 29th September: Recruitment Agency Expo Birmingham

Recruitment Agency Expo Birmingham delivered a massive business and networking opportunity and, for many in the recruitment industry, it was the only place to be.

The Bond stand buzzed with activity throughout this event and delegates often needed to form queues to take a look at AdaptUX, but our consultants managed to keep up with demand…just!

Expo Birmingham

Bond’s Sophie Hoskins (centre) demonstrates the power of AdaptUX to delegates at Recruitment Agency Expo Birmingham 2016.

Meeting with many top industry suppliers, hundreds of attendees compared and contrasted products and services – and also had the chance to attend many free seminars with speakers sharing valuable insight.

Seminars focused on the most recent industry initiatives, the hottest topics, new and developing products, and the opportunities within the market to help recruitment businesses grow.  The interactive (and guaranteed by Expo organisers to make a tangible impact in just 30 minutes) Training Zone’s delivered bite-sized, best practice training content to immediately implement within recruitment businesses.

13th October: UK Recruiter Recruitment Technology & Social Media Conference

The second UK Recruiter Recruitment Technology & Social Media Conference this year followed the same format as the first (see 16th June above) and was no less exciting.  Once again, two-minute ‘Elevator Pitches’ from each technology provider opened the day and you can see a video of Bond’s Matt Jelley delivering the AdaptUX one below.

13th and 14th October 2016: Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum Europe

Staffing Industry AnalystsHeld at London’s Grange St. Paul’s Hotel, the Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum Europe 2016 delivered an exclusive event for European staffing executives.

Looking at the challenges recruitment businesses will face in the rapidly evolving staffing environment, this year’s event focused on new techniques and practices and shared advice on market segments for business growth.

Bond were Pinnacle Sponsors at this prestigious event and exhibited AdaptUX throughout the full two days.

Bond’s Chief Technology Officer, Daniel Richardson, also delivered a fascinating presentation entitled ‘The future of Recruitment Technology and what it means for you’.

20th October and 17th November: Recruitment Leaders Connect

Recruitment Leaders Connect hosted a number of popular, relaxed and informal events in 2016 and the Bond team attended The King’s Fund, Cavendish Square, London on 20th October and The Studio, 67 Hope Street, Glasgow on 17th November

New and returning delegates attended a wide range of valuable roundtable discussions and presentations from expert speakers and enjoyed ample networking opportunities via buffet breakfasts, lunches and drinks.

Bond were proud sponsors of these two events and our consultants were on hand throughout to meet with delegates, discuss the speaker’s presentations, and deliver demonstrations of AdaptUX.

Looking ahead

2016 was quite a big year for Bond when it came to attending recruitment industry events, but can we top it next year?  We certainly can!

One of our highest priorities is to keep learning about all aspects of the recruitment industry – direct from recruiters – and industry events are a great way to do this.  So be sure to keep an eye on our events page to find out where we’ll be appearing next – we’d love to see you there!
